About XamPro

XamPro is a secure, cloud-based exam proctoring and school communication platform developed by EduSoft LTD, designed specifically for UK schools and colleges. It allows institutions to conduct safe, JCQ-compliant digital examinations — including for students with access arrangements — while also offering SMS messaging and digital letter delivery to parents and carers. Everything is managed through a single, intuitive platform.

XamPro is built for UK secondary schools, sixth forms, and further education colleges. It is primarily used by exams officers, SENCos, headteachers, and IT teams who need a reliable, compliant solution for managing exam sittings — particularly for students with access arrangements such as extra time, a reader, or a scribe.

Yes. XamPro is designed in full alignment with JCQ (Joint Council for Qualifications) regulations, including those covering access arrangements. The platform supports the secure, auditable management of exam sittings in a way that meets JCQ requirements for invigilated assessments.

XamPro is trusted by over 200 UK schools and colleges, with more than 50,000 exam sittings managed through the platform. We maintain a 99.9% uptime record, ensuring your sittings are never disrupted by technical issues on our side.

XamPro is owned and operated by EduSoft LTD (Company No. 15827191), a UK-registered software company specialising in educational technology. EduSoft LTD is ICO-registered (ZB799468) and Cyber Essentials accredited, with all data stored exclusively on UK-based servers.

Exam Proctoring

Students access their exam using a unique, time-limited access code provided by the exams officer. Once logged in, XamPro locks the device into a secure exam environment. Invigilators can monitor all active sittings in real time from a central dashboard, and the platform automatically saves student work at regular intervals to prevent data loss.

XamPro supports the three most widely used devices in UK schools:
  • Windows 10 & 11 — full desktop support
  • ChromeOS — via a dedicated Chrome extension or PWA
  • iPadOS — supported for tablet-based sittings
This flexibility means you can run sittings across mixed-device environments without needing dedicated exam hardware.

Yes — supporting students with access arrangements is at the heart of XamPro. The platform allows exams officers to configure individual sittings with specific provisions, including:
  • Extra time (percentage or fixed duration)
  • Reader mode
  • Scribe support
  • Rest breaks
  • Word processor use
  • Separate invigilation settings
These are set per-student and applied automatically at the start of each sitting.

Yes. XamPro includes an offline mode for situations where internet connectivity is unreliable or unavailable. Students can continue working during connectivity disruptions, with their responses synchronised back to the server automatically once the connection is restored. This ensures no work is lost due to network issues.

XamPro automatically saves student work at regular intervals throughout the sitting. Students and invigilators can see a visual confirmation of each save. In the event of a device crash, power failure, or accidental closure, responses are recovered from the last auto-save point — minimising disruption and protecting the integrity of the sitting.

Yes. The XamPro invigilation dashboard gives invigilators a live overview of all active sittings, including which students are currently working, any alerts or connection issues, and time remaining. Invigilators can intervene, extend time, or end individual sittings from the dashboard without disrupting other students.

Yes. XamPro can generate printable sitting slips for each student, which include their name, exam details, access arrangement provisions, and seat allocation. Completed exam responses can be exported as PDF documents for marking or archiving, and summary reports are available for review by the exams officer or senior leadership team.

XamPro is built to scale. There is no hard limit on simultaneous users — the platform can comfortably handle whole-year-group sittings across multiple rooms and devices at the same time. Our infrastructure is hosted on AWS UK, designed for high availability and low latency even during peak sitting periods.

MIS & Integration

XamPro integrates with a wide range of UK school MIS systems through our official partnership with Wonde — one of the UK's leading school data integration platforms. Wonde-supported MIS systems include: In addition, XamPro supports direct import of examination data from AQA, WJEC, and Pearson/Edexcel. Visit our Wonde integration page for full details.

Wonde is an official school data integration platform that provides secure, consented access to MIS data on behalf of schools. XamPro is an official Wonde partner, which means we can automatically sync student records — including names, UPNs, year groups, registration groups, contact details, and attendance data — directly from your school's MIS every day, without any manual exports or CSV uploads.

Once your school approves the Wonde connection (a simple, one-time process managed through the Wonde dashboard), XamPro keeps your data up to date automatically. New starters, leavers, and contact changes all flow through without any action needed from your team. Learn more about our Wonde integration.

For schools using a Wonde-supported MIS, setup is straightforward:
  1. Your school approves XamPro's access request through the Wonde portal — this takes a few minutes and is managed entirely by your school.
  2. XamPro begins an initial sync of your student, contact, and group data.
  3. From that point, your data syncs automatically every day — no ongoing action needed from your team.
Our onboarding team guides you through every step and can typically have your MIS connection live within your first week on the platform.

Yes. If your MIS is not currently supported by Wonde, you can import student and contact data manually via a structured CSV upload. Our support team will provide a template and assist with the import process. We recommend checking wonde.com for the latest list of supported systems, as new MIS integrations are added regularly. Contact us to discuss your specific MIS.

SMS for Schools

The XamPro SMS module allows schools to send targeted, real-time text messages to parents, carers, and staff directly from their MIS data. It includes four functional areas: a broadcast and student-targeting tool, an attendance SMS system, a behaviour and detention consent module, and a two-way inbox for replies. All message delivery is handled by UK ICO-compliant SMS gateway providers.

XamPro SMS supports a wide range of school communication scenarios:
  • Attendance alerts (first-day absence, late marks, unauthorised absence)
  • Behaviour notifications and detention consent requests
  • General broadcasts to selected year groups, classes, or individuals
  • Staff-wide announcements
  • Exam reminders and schedule changes
  • Safeguarding alerts
Messages can be scheduled in advance or sent immediately.

The student targeting tool draws directly on your MIS data, allowing you to filter recipients by year group, registration group, teacher, class, or individual student. You can also apply data-driven filters — for example, targeting only students with more than three unauth absences this term, or only those with an active behaviour concern. This precision reduces irrelevant messages and increases engagement from parents.

Yes. The SMS module can be added to any XamPro subscription as an optional add-on, or purchased as a standalone service if your school does not require the exam proctoring features. Please see our pricing page for current add-on costs, or contact us to discuss your requirements.

Detention Module

The XamPro Detention Module is a built-in feature of the SMS plan that allows staff to issue, manage, and communicate detentions entirely from within the XamPro platform. Staff can log a detention against a student, set the date and time, and automatically send an SMS notification to the parent or carer — all from a single screen. The module reduces admin time, ensures parents are notified promptly, and creates a clear record of every detention issued.

When a detention is issued, XamPro automatically sends an SMS to the student's primary contact(s) using the phone numbers held in your MIS. The message includes the student's name, the reason for the detention, and the date and time. Messages are sent instantly, so parents are informed well in advance — reducing missed detentions and the follow-up admin that comes with them.

Yes. If your SMS plan includes two-way messaging, parents can reply directly to the detention notification. Replies are captured in the XamPro inbox and linked to the student record, giving staff a full audit trail of the communication. This is particularly useful for schools that require parental consent or acknowledgement before a detention takes place.

No. The Detention Module is included as a standard feature within the XamPro SMS plan at no additional cost. Any school with an active SMS subscription can enable and use it immediately from the platform dashboard. There is no separate licence, setup fee, or usage cap for detention notifications — SMS credits are simply consumed in the same way as any other message.

1-2.io URL Shortener

1-2.io is a URL shortening service owned and operated exclusively by EduSoft LTD — the same company behind XamPro. It is available only to UK education organisations and exists solely to serve schools, colleges, and education trusts. Every short link is UK-hosted, GDPR-compliant, and generates codes starting from a single character (e.g. 1-2.io/a), making it the shortest possible domain for educational communications.

Yes — 1-2.io is included free of charge for all schools on an active XamPro SMS plan. There is no additional subscription, setup fee, or per-link charge. Once enabled for your account, staff can shorten URLs and upload PDFs directly from the XamPro Link Manager, and short links are automatically embedded into SMS messages sent through the platform.

There are several key reasons 1-2.io is the better choice for schools:
  • Shorter links. 1-2.io/a is 8 characters — compared to 14 for bit.ly and 22 for TinyURL. SMS messages are billed per 160 characters, so shorter links save money at scale.
  • Trusted domain. Parents and carers see links from 1-2.io — a domain they can verify is owned by an education company, not a generic marketing tool.
  • GDPR-compliant. All data is UK-hosted with no third-party tracking, advertising, or data harvesting.
  • Fully integrated. Links created in XamPro SMS messages are automatically saved and trackable in the Link Manager — no copy-pasting into external tools.

Every 1-2.io link created through XamPro includes a built-in analytics dashboard, accessible with a single click from the Link Manager. You can see:
  • Total clicks and unique visitors
  • Device type breakdown (mobile, desktop, tablet)
  • Browser and operating system
  • Time of day heatmap
  • Referrer sources (SMS, email, WhatsApp, direct)
  • 30-day click timeline chart
You can also generate a QR code for any link, set an expiry date, or pause a link instantly — all from the same dashboard.

Digital Letters & Reports

XamPro Digital Letters is a paperless document delivery system that allows schools to send school reports, letters, and communications directly to parents and carers via a secure online portal. Parents receive an SMS notification with a unique access link and verify their identity using their child's date of birth — no app download or account creation required.

The savings are significant. A typical school sending reports and letters by traditional print and post spends around £2,940 per year on paper, printing, and postage. With XamPro Digital Letters, the same volume of communications costs approximately £810 per year — a saving of over 72%. Schools also save considerable staff time previously spent on printing, folding, enveloping, and posting.

XamPro Digital Letters supports delivery of any PDF document generated by your school, including:
  • End-of-term and annual school reports
  • Parents evening letters and appointment confirmations
  • Attendance and behaviour correspondence
  • Trip consent forms
  • General parent communications
  • Exam timetables and results letters
Documents are matched to students via UPN or admission number and uploaded in bulk.

Yes. XamPro Digital Letters includes a real-time analytics dashboard that shows delivery status, open rates, and when each document was first accessed. For letters that have not been opened, you can trigger an automatic reminder SMS — helping to ensure important communications reach every family.

Pricing & Getting Started

XamPro is priced on a pay-as-you-go (PAYG) sitting basis, with four tiers available:
  • 100 sittings — £99.99
  • 250 sittings — £199.99
  • 500 sittings — £399.99

Yes. We offer a free guided demonstration of XamPro to all prospective schools. During the demo, a member of our team will walk you through the platform live — from setting up a sitting through to the invigilation dashboard and outputs — so you can see exactly how it fits your school's workflow before committing. Request a free demo here.

Most schools are up and running with XamPro within one to two weeks of signing. The process involves completing your Information Sharing Agreement, configuring your MIS connection or uploading your student data, and completing a brief onboarding session with our team. We work around your schedule and can typically have your first sitting ready to go well before your next exam series.

Yes. All new subscriptions include onboarding training delivered by our customer success team, covering the full platform for exams officers, invigilators, and IT staff. We also provide written guides, how-to videos, and a knowledgebase accessible at any time via the Support Centre. Refresher training is available on request at no additional cost.

XamPro's PAYG model means you purchase sittings as you need them with no fixed-term contract commitment. Sittings are valid for the duration of your subscription. For schools on an unlimited plan, terms are discussed on an individual basis. We believe our platform should earn your renewal — not lock you in.

GDPR & Data Security

Yes. XamPro is fully compliant with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. EduSoft LTD acts as the Data Processor, while your school acts as the Data Controller. All subscribing schools are required to sign an Information Sharing Agreement (ISA) and a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) before using the platform. Our ICO registration number is ZB799468.

All data is stored exclusively in the United Kingdom, on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure hosted in UK-based data centres. No data is transferred outside the UK. All student data is encrypted at rest, and all data in transit is protected using industry-standard TLS encryption via Cloudflare's web application firewall and load balancing.

Yes. EduSoft LTD is Cyber Essentials accredited and ICO-registered. We conduct regular internal security reviews and annual independent third-party penetration testing. All systems are patched in line with vendor recommendations, and access to user data is automatically logged and audited for anomalies.

Upon termination of your subscription, all school and student data is retained for 31 days to allow for a final data export if required. After this period, all data is permanently and irrecoverably deleted from our systems. Schools may also request immediate deletion at any time by submitting a formal request to our support team.

Yes. Two-factor authentication (2FA) is mandatory for all staff users of the XamPro platform. Students accessing exams via unique time-limited access codes do not require a staff account, so 2FA is not applicable to their login flow. Administrator-level access across all internal systems also requires 2FA as a minimum.
